Google is all set to bring this 4-year-old

iPhone

feature to Android smartphones.


The company working on bringing

3D touch

like feature with Android Q. The feature will be similar to that of iPhones 3D Touch functionality. As reported by 9to5Google, the company will be introducing the feature of deep press and as per the documentation it is related to ‘Motion Event’. As per the documentation, “Deep press. The current event stream represents the user intentionally pressing harder on the screen. This classification type should be used to accelerate the long press behaviour.”


The report further added that the upcoming 3D Touch feature will enable unique responses whenever a user presses down harder on the display. The report said, “A deep press is intended to be a quick way to access the same menus and information as a long press, by simply pressing harder.” However, presently, it is not clear as to how the feature will function or whether it will need any hardware support.


Some rumors also suggest that the company might bring the deep press feature with its next generation flagship smartphone

. The smartphone is expected to launch in October this year at the company’s annual hardware event.
