The Hong Kong Free Press identifies the builders of this brick-throwing manganel long-established from torn-down bamboo scaffolding as Hong Kong protesters, who deployed their siege engine in Mong Kok, Kowloon, dwelling to slim streets and night time markets. The Free Press says it used to be “eradicated presently after.”

As Jeff Wasserstrom notes, the protests delight in without warning proceeded from cyberpunk to steampunk.
